Frequently asked questions

Mostly about where the numbers come from, and where they deliberately do not.

Where does the facility data come from?
Building outlines and their tags come from OpenStreetMap. Floor areas are computed from the mapped polygon, so they describe the footprint of the building rather than the lettable area inside it. 1,046 facilities across 27 countries are included; a facility appears only if it is mapped with a footprint above 5,000 m².
Why is there no price list?
Storage is priced against a requirement: how many pallet positions, for how long, at what temperature, with what handling. A published per-pallet figure without those variables would be wrong for almost every enquiry. Rates on this site exist only where an operator answered a specific request, and they carry the expiry date the operator set.
Why does the directory not show available space?
Because nobody has given us a feed of it. Free space changes daily and is known only inside the operator's warehouse management system. Showing a number we derived ourselves would be a guess presented as a fact, so the capacity calendar shows committed bookings — what is known — and says nothing about what is free.
Are the facilities certified?
Certifications are recorded only where an operator supplied them. An absent certification on a facility page means we were not told, not that the facility lacks it. The schema carries the field; the directory does not fill it in.
How is a booking priced?
A booking can only be created from a quote an operator already answered, and it takes its price from that quote. The price is not read from the booking request, so it cannot be altered between accepting a quote and being charged.
What happens when a quote expires?
It is marked expired and stops appearing as a live rate. It is not quietly re-used or refreshed, because an operator who priced a requirement in one month has not agreed to that price in the next.
Can I measure a facility myself?
Yes. Every facility page carries the OpenStreetMap way id it was derived from, so the polygon and its area can be checked against the source.
What do the plan limits count?
Searches and rate requests per calendar month. Both counters are shown on your dashboard. While no payment provider is configured, they are counted for information and not enforced — the app says so on the page rather than failing a request without explanation.

Something else?

Rate questions belong on the facility's own page, where the request reaches the operator with your requirement attached. Everything else can go to the team.
