About
WarehouseScanner is a directory of warehouse and storage facilities, and a way to get a rate from the operators who run them.
Where the facilities come from
Every facility is a real, mapped building taken from OpenStreetMap, filtered to commercial scale. Footprints are computed from the building outline rather than estimated from a size bracket, so the areas describe the actual polygon. The build that produces the dataset is a script in this repository, and it can be re-run to refresh the snapshot.
What we will not make up
The directory carries no storage rates, no certifications and no free-capacity figures, because no free public dataset holds them per building and inventing them would put fabricated prices and fabricated compliance claims next to real companies. They appear only when an operator supplies them by answering a request.
That is why the rates table starts empty, and why a facility page says "not published" instead of showing a plausible number.
How a requirement moves
Find a facility, send a request describing what you need to store and for how long, and the operator answers with a rate and an expiry date. Accept it and the booking is created at that rate. Goods in and out are recorded against the booking, which is what the inventory and capacity views are built from.
